Create an Asset Group PM Schedule

To create an Asset Group PM Schedule, follow these steps:

  1. From the Assets menu, click Asset Group.
  2. Double-click the asset group in the Query Results in the List tab.  Or, create a new asset group.
  3. Click the PM Info tab
  4. You have the option to show active PM information or show all PM information for the asset group that you selected.
  5. In the PM Information section, click New.  The PM Schedule New screen opens.
  6. Type in a Description.

  7. Select the Schedule.  The PM Schedule New screen changes according to your Schedule selections.  There are four ways you can schedule PMs in TMS: Both (Calendar and Meter), Calendar, and Meter.  If you select Unscheduled, then you are not required to complete any additional fields.

    • Calendar is the most widely used and means your PM is generated based on dates.
    • Meter means that your PM is generated based on a threshold, like miles.  For example, changing the oil in your car every 3,000 miles.
    • Both means that your PM is generated based on dates or a meter.  For example, changing the oil every 3,000 miles or every 90 days, whichever comes first.
    • Unscheduled means the PM template is in the database but will not generate.  You might use this for assets out for repair or on-demand PMs.
  8. Select the Type.

    • Active means that if the PM due date or next due meter reading falls within the range established in automatic PM generation setup, TMS automatically generates your PM work orders.
    • Schedule is used for creating PMs for a category of assets.  For example, you would create a PM template for all of the air handler devices in your organization.  Then, every time your organization purchases a new air handler, TMS creates a new active PM template for the category of assets that is air handler
    • Unscheduled means that you can generate a PM work order by querying for the PM and then using manual generation.  An unscheduled PM will not generate using automatic PM generation.

  10. From the Priority list, select the Priority.
