Create a New Work Order
The New Work Order screen allows you to add a new work order to the database. To create a work order from an existing schedule, follow these steps.

From the TMS Today screen, select Work Orders.

On the Work Orders screen, select Create Work Order.

Fill in the required fields on the screen (denoted by an asterisk (*) next to the field label).

To add an asset:

Scroll down to the Asset Number field on the Main tab (or another tab with the Asset Number field, if you're using a custom form).

Enter the Asset Number into the field and click outside the field, or select the Lookup button and search for the asset.
The following values are pulled from the asset record (if available): Account, Site/Building/Location/Location Desc, Skill and Priority.If the manufacturer validation option is turned on, the manufacturer information will be pulled from the asset record.

To add a requester:

Scroll down to the Requester field on the Main tab (or another tab with the Requester field, if you're using a custom form).

Select the Requester field and then a Requester Name from the list of requesters, or select the Name field and then manually enter the requester's name.
If the option Use Resources as Requesters is turned on, the list of requesters will show a list of resources.

Select the Requester Comments field and enter comments from the work order's requester.
The following values are pulled from the requester record (if available): Phone, Pager, and Email. If there is no asset associated with the work order, these values are also pulled from the requester record: the Account, location information, and Shop (if the requester is a resource).

Fill in any of the remaining non-required fields as necessary for this work order.

Select Save to submit the work order.
A confirmation message appears when the work order is saved, and the Work Order Edit page appears.
