Add or Update an Asset

In Work Order Edit, you can add an asset to the work order, or change the asset associated with the work order.

Add an Asset

To associate an asset with a work order, follow these steps.

  1. Open a work order in Work Order Edit.

  2. Scroll down to the Asset Number field or Assets grid, depending on the form you are using.

  3. If using a single asset form, do one of the following:

    • Select the Asset Number field and then enter a valid Asset Number .

    • Select the Lookup button next to the field and search for an asset to add.

    • To use the camera on the device or an external scanning device, select the Asset Number field and then select the Scan button that appears at the top of the keyboard so that you can scan the asset's barcode.

    Once the barcode is scanned, the asset's information will populate the work order.

  4. If using a multiple asset form, do one of the following:

    • Select the Add Asset button in the grid and then select the Asset Number field so that you can enter a valid Asset Number.

    • Select the Add Asset button in the grid and then select Query to search for the assets to add. Select multiple assets to add to the work order from the query results and select Done.

    • To use the camera on the device or an external scanning device, select the Scan button next to the Add Asset button and then scan the asset's barcode.

    Once the barcode is scanned, the asset's information will populate the work order.

  5. Select Save to commit your changes.

Change the Asset Associated with the Work Order

To change the asset associated with a work order, follow these steps.

  1. Open a work order in Work Order Edit.

  2. Scroll down to the Asset Number field the Main tab (or other tab with the Asset Number field, if using a custom form).

  3. Select the Asset Number field and then replace the previous Asset Number, or select the Lookup button and then search for the asset.

  4. Select Save to commit your changes.

To delete an asset from the work order, swipe over the asset record and select the Delete button when it appears.
