Add or Update Procedure Readings

On the Work Order Edit screen, you can add a new procedure reading to the work order or makes updates to a procedure reading that is already attached to a procedure.

Add a Procedure Reading

To add a procedure reading to a work order, follow these steps.

  1. Open a work order in Work Order Edit.

  2. Select the Procedures tab (or other tab with the Procedures grid, if using a custom form).

  3. Select the Enter Readings button (the square and pencil icon) next to the Procedures label.

  4. If there are multiple assets associated with the work order, do one of the following:

    • Select the > button to select the asset for which you want to enter readings. (This button is disabled for single asset work orders and absent for work orders with no associated asset.)

    • To scan an asset using the camera on the device or an external scanning device, select the Scan button to the right of the Asset field. Once the asset is scanned, the Procedure Readings field updates based on the procedure tied to the scanned asset.

    When procedure readings have been entered for an asset, you will see an indicator of completed procedure readings next to that asset.

  5. Procedure readings are grouped by their associated task. Enter all needed procedure readings.

    If the reading contains a drop-down menu, select a value from the drop-down menu to complete the reading.

    • If the reading contains a drop-down menu, select a value from the drop-down menu to complete the reading.

    • iOS does not support option buttons, to add Radio Button Choice List Sub Procedure readings, select a value from the drop-down menu.

    • If the reading is for a ranged procedure, see the Ranged Procedures section below.

  6. Click Save to commit the procedure reading values you entered.

Ranged Procedure Readings

  • If the reading is outside of the range and saving is permitted, a message is displayed and the changes are committed.

  • If the reading is outside of the range and saving is not permitted, a message is displayed and the changes are not committed.

Choice List Sub Procedure Readings

  • The options might be presented as option buttons, check boxes, or in a drop-down menu.

  • You must select at least one option for option buttons and drop-down menus.

  • Only the check boxes allow you to select multiple options.

Update a Procedure Reading

To add a procedure to a work order, follow these steps.

  1. Open a work order in Work Order Edit.

  2. Select the Procedures tab (or other tab with the Procedures grid, if using a custom form).

  3. If there are multiple assets associated with the work order, do one of the following:

    • Select the > button to select the asset for which you want to enter readings.

    • To scan an asset using the camera on the device or an external scanning device, select the Scan button to the right of the Asset field. Once the asset is scanned, the Procedure Readings field updates based on the procedure tied to the asset.

  4. Do one of the following:

    • Update a procedure reading's value.

    • Click the Delete button next to a procedure to clear all reading values for that procedure and then enter new values.

    • Click the Delete button next to the Readings label at the top of the screen to clear all procedure reading values, regardless of the procedure. Enter new values as necessary.

    When you delete all procedure readings for an asset, the indicator for completed procedure readings is removed for that asset until procedure readings are re-entered.

  5. When you're done updating the procedure readings, click Save to commit your changes.
