Purchasing Options
Since every organization has different needs, TMS can be customized to meet the needs of your organization. Using the Setup module, you can change the way TMS creates and processes purchase orders.
With the Options Setup screen, you can choose to set options on the Segment or Group level. Setting options for the Segment will override all of the options that were previously set for the segment you select. Setting options for a Group will only override the options that were previously set for the selected group. Keeping these factors in mind, follow these steps.
-
From the Setup menu, go to Purchasing > Options.
(missing or bad snippet) -
In the Purchase Orders area there are five check boxes:
-
Allow Receipt from PO - Checking this option allows you to receive purchase order line items from the PO Edit screen.
-
Allow Requisition Line Items without Vendors - Checking this option allows materials without an associated vendor to be added to a requisition.
-
Require Line Items to be associated with the vendor - Checking this option forces you to add a material that is associated with the vendor that is associated with the purchase order. This is to prevent you from ordering items that the vendor associated with your purchase order does not sell.
-
Automatically complete the PO when all line items are received - Once a receipt is made for every line item, TMS completes the purchase order.
-
Work Order status tied to Purchase Order - When a purchase order line item is issued to a work order, TMS changes the work order Sub Status to AWAITING PARTS. The work order Status and Sub Status drop-down menus are disabled. Once all of the line items have a receipt, TMS changes the work order Sub Status to Parts Received.
