Create a New Dispatch Form (Queue)
TMS includes a standard form titled Dispatch (MAIN), which uses the All Active WOs saved query to add work orders to the Queue tab. However, if your needs are not fully covered by the Dispatch system form, you can create your own form.
You must have at least one saved query available to you in the Work Orders module to create a Dispatch form.
To create a new custom form for Dispatch, follow these steps:
-
Go to Setup > Work Orders > New Dispatch Form.
This opens the New Dispatch Form dialog.
-
Enter a Form Name for your queue in the first field. For example, Electrical Dept WOs.
-
In the Description field, enter a brief description for your form. In keeping with our example, we might enter WOs for Electrical Dept Techs.
-
In the Segment field, select the segment in which this form should reside.
-
In the Status list, select the status of work orders this queue will include. We will choose Active.
-
Enter the necessary Refresh Rate for the queue.
This is how often the queue will search for new work orders - The number of minutes must be between 1 and 10.
-
In the Saved Query field, select a query for Dispatch to use to determine which work orders appear in the queue..
-
If you want to base which fields appear on the new form on an existing Dispatch form, select the form to use from the Based On drop-down menu.
-
Click Continue to save the form, and go to the Dispatch Form Designer to complete the form.
See the Customize a Dispatch Form section for information on adding tabs and fields to the form.
