Document Viewer Permissions
The Siterra Admin can grant the ability to interact with files in the viewer in a way similar to other role permissions.
Enable or disable Document Viewer permissions for a role:
-
From the Siterra homepage, navigate to the Admin page and click on the desired Template (either Library Templates or Schedule Templates).
-
Click on the desired Template from the list.
The template opens. -
In the template page in the Documents section, click on the Permissions tab and then click on Manage Permissions below.
A new window of Permission Sets opens. -
At the top, select which tab you want to add permissions to. The Document Viewer permissions can be assigned to Task, Documents, and Libraries Permission Sets.
-
Navigate to the desired Permissions Set and click the menu stack button to open a drop-down menu.
From the drop-down menu, click "Manage."
A new window opens. -
Click Open Files in Viewer to enable or disable Document Viewer access.
Users who have already been granted View level of permissions or higher (though a standard permission set for Tasks, Documents, and Library) are automatically granted the ability to use the new Open Files in Viewer capability. This permission can be revoked on an individual role basis if required.
Assign Roles to a Permission in a Template
You can assign roles to the template in the same manner as before, but now you have the option to grant Document Viewer permission on the template's Permissions page as well. Once a Role is selected you can use the drop-down menu to assign the desired permission set to the role.
Document Viewer accessibility for the various Permission Sets are also displayed in the object page when you click on the Permissions tab and then click View Permissions.
Ad Hoc Permissions
Ad hoc documents that have been added to an object’s page directly (and thus aren’t a part of the template itself) need to have their permissions assigned as follows:
-
For an ad hoc document added to a Project’s schedule, the document's permissions are controlled through the Permissions tab on the Project Details page.
-
For an ad hoc document is added to a library, the document’s permissions are controlled through the permission set that is assigned to the library itself on the Library Template.
-
For an ad hoc document added specifically to a Project Documents library, the document's permissions are controlled through the permission set that is assigned to the Project Documents library on the Schedule Template.
