Escalations

Use escalations to reflect payment increases or decreases. Add escalations from the Escalations pane of the Payment home page.

Add an Escalation to a Payment

  1. Go to a Payment home page.

  2. Scroll to Escalations and select Add in the Escalations toolbar.

  3. Complete the form:

    • From Date: Enter the date when the escalation begins. Previous Amount populates with the current payment amount.

    • To Date: If the escalation lasts for a defined period, enter the end date of that period. On this date, the escalation ends and the payment amount returns to the original value. Leave blank for an open-ended escalation.

    • Escalation: Select and option then enter a value and select % to apply a percentage or select a currency to enter a specific amount. Select Fixed Amount for a fixed escalation, or Per Unit Amount to escalate by a unit of measurement (for example, 10% per square foot).

The system calculates New Amount automatically.

      • Maximum Value: Enter the maximum value.

When the occurs, the escalation ends and the payment amount returns to the original value.

  4. Select Save.

The escalation appears in the Escalations pane of the Payment home page, and the updated value appears in the Planned Amount column of the Payment Lines pane for all affected payment lines.

Enter a value in the field.

Escalation Generate Preview Screen

Once you add an escalation, select Generate preview of all results to open a window showing all payment lines affected by the escalation. The preview displays calculated values for payment lines in To Be Paid status based on what will happen when you save, create, or edit the escalation.

Incremental Payment Lines

Incremental payment lines capture adjustments to payment lines in Paid, Partially Paid, Canceled, Void, and Paid (Override) status. The system assigns an incremental number by adding 0.01 to the last payment line in the accounting period.

Delete an Escalation

When you delete an escalation that has modified or created payment lines in Paid status, the system generates a new incremental payment line to record the adjustment.

Edit an Escalation

You can edit any writable field in Payment Escalations. When you edit an escalation that has modified or created payment lines in Paid status, the system generates a new incremental payment line to record the adjustment.

Change Payment Start Dates

Siterra updates payment line calculations when you change the Start Date of a payment on the Lease Header or Payment Header, even when the payment includes Paid lines. You can only move the date earlier, not later than an existing Paid line.

The system creates incremental payment lines to capture adjustments and renumbers lines as needed.

To update multiple escalations at once, select the check boxes next to the escalations or choose Select All.

Additional escalation actions are available from the menu stacks button next to each escalation.

Shorten payment end dates

When you shorten a payment End Date to an earlier date on the Payment Header, any existing escalations that fall outside the new date range are orphaned.

When you save the Payment Header, the Delete Payment Escalations window opens so that you can select and bulk delete the orphaned escalations. To so, an administrator must assign the Escalations > Bulk Delete permission to your role in Global Permissions.

Add Multiple Escalations

  1. Go to a Payment home page.

  2. Scroll to Escalations and select Add Multiple in the Escalations toolbar.

  3. Complete the form.

  4. Select Save when finished.

The escalations appear in the Escalations pane of the Payment home page and in the Planned Amount column of the Payment Lines pane.
