Rename Document

This article describes how to rename a document. You cannot rename a document if it is under change or locked.

If Workflow Lockdown is enabled, users with the Contributor, Contractor, Approver, Reviewer, or Viewer role cannot rename a document.

ClosedPowerWeb Procedures

  1. Select the document that you want to rename.

  2. Choose one of the following options:

    • In the Edit ribbon, in the Organize group, click Rename.

      The Confirm Document Rename dialog box appears.

    • Right-click the document, then select Edit > Organize > Rename.

      The Confirm Document Rename dialog box appears.

  3. Type a new name in New name of the document.

  4. Click Yes.

    The name is changed.
