Navigate in Power

Discover how to navigate within Meridian Power.

Ribbon

The ribbon allows you to create new documents and folders, search records, manage documents, workflows, projects, and more. It has 10 tabs, each with buttons that help you use many of the features Meridian Power offers.

You can choose to pin or to collapse the ribbon:

  • To pin the ribbon, select a tab and click Pin the ribbon in the lower-right corner of the ribbon.

  • To collapse it, click Collapse the ribbon in the lower-right corner of the ribbon.

Context menu

The context menu lets you quickly take action on documents or folders, right where you're working. It offers many of the same options you find in the ribbon.

Right-click a document or folder to open the context menu. You can do this in:

  • Any document or folder in the repository.

  • The Revisions, References, and Project Copies view in the document pane.

  • The viewer.

When you select multiple object types, the context menu shows only the actions that apply to each type. Some options don't work on all selected items at the same time. To avoid issues, select items of the same type when possible, for example, only folders or only documents from the same type.

You open a shortcut menu in the viewer window by right-clicking anywhere within the window. The shortcut menu of the viewer window lists different commands depending on the format of the selected document.

Navigation menu

The navigation menu in the upper-right corner lets you switch to the Meridian clients you have access to.

Search and views bar

Meridian Power includes a quick search bar, property-based search, and options to change your view and scopes, making it easier to find what you need. The views include:

  • Navigation views: Hierarchical view of the properties that define the selected branch and their values.

  • Collection views: Collection search criteria, which can be changed to refine the collection.

  • Search results: Search criteria, which can be changed to refine the search.

Document pane

When you select a document, the document pane opens displaying the document properties in different tabs, depending on your document type.

In the document pane, you can also find a view bar, where you can select what you want to view. It might vary depending on the document type. It might include:

  • Properties

  • View Rendition

  • Revisions

  • Workflow Diagram

  • Show References

  • Master and Project Copies

Some views in the view bar allows you to undock them as a separate window. To do this, select a view and click the Undock icon in the upper-right corner of the document pane if it is available.
