Power Introduction

Meridian Power is a web-based Engineering Document Management System (EDMS) for creating, modifying, and managing engineering data stored in Meridian. It enforces your business rules in the engineering process, such as automatically naming and filing documents, managing complex CAD references, and exchanging data with CAD and Office files. Target users include engineering managers, project managers, engineers, and CAD drafting technicians.

Manage engineering documents throughout their entire life cycle, from creation and review to storage, distribution, and eventual archiving or destruction.

Meridian defines documents by their business purpose, not their file extension. For example, your project can store different file formats as drawings, such as AutoCAD Drawings (.dwg), MicroStation Design Files (.dng) , and PDFs. Meridian allows you to manage these different drawing types based on their business meaning, not just their format.

Meridian stores all your document data in a vault, including all revisions, redline data, and references between documents. You can move files between folders or projects within the vault without losing references.

Key Features

The key features of Meridian Power include:

  • Document management: Store documents securely in the Cloud, providing global access to create, modify, and manage engineering documents throughout their lifecycle, including archiving.

  • Security: Control access and permissions through secure access, and use audit trails to ensure compliance and protect sensitive information.

  • Advanced workflows: Modify documents using predefined workflows that retain reference relationships.

  • Integration: Integrate Meridian with CAD applications, Microsoft Office, and other applications to streamline workflows and increase efficiency.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate in real-time with team members, ensuring that everyone has access to the latest information.

  • Contractors: Integrate with Meridian Portal for external collaboration, allowing contractors to view, modify, and review documents.

  • Version control: Ensure all users work with the latest versions of documents, reducing errors and improving collaboration.

  • E-signature: Ensure compliance with key regulations if you have the Meridian Cloud for Life Sciences license.
