Find Items

When you access Meridian Cloud Explorer from the Landing Page, all documents or assets display by default, whether in the Master Documents or Assets view. Use filters to locate the assets or documents you need within the Masters or Documentation scopes. Documents within a project or archived documents are not accessible through Cloud Explorer. You can also save your filter settings for future use.

Prerequisites

You can view documents or assets according to your role assignments.

Master Documents are available for all Master Role Assignments.

Generic Documents are available for all Documentation Role Assignments.

Master Assets are available for all Asset Role Assignments.

ClosedView all items

  1. In the menu bar, choose one of the following:

    • Click Master DocumentsA black piece of paper. to view generic documents and master documents.

    • Click Assets An icon which depicts several black shapes. to view assets items.

  2. Click Remove All Filters A gray button with two pieces of paper sitting next to each other on it. on the filter bar to reset the view.

It may take up to 10 minutes for Explorer to display newly uploaded documents or updated property values made by other Meridian Cloud applications.

ClosedFind items with filters

  1. Click  A blue filter icon.Add a Filter.

  2. Select the properties you want to filter.

  3. Click Apply.

    The selected properties display in the filter bar.

Lookup filters

Use lookup filters to choose values from the property list.

  1. Click Select... in the property filter.

  2. Select the desired property values from the list.

  3. Click Update.

Text filters

Use text filters to input words or numbers in the text field.

  1. Click Enter Text... in the property filter.

  2. Type the word or number you want to search.
  3. Select Enter.

Configure multiple filters to refine your search. The list displays only items matching your selected criteria. An oval icon beside the view name shows the count of items found.

Document Content filter

Use the Document Content filter to find documents with the exact word, number, or phrase you enter.

  1. Click  A blue filter icon.Add a Filter.

  2. Select Document Content.

  3. Click Enter Text... in the Document Content filter.

  4. Select a search option.

    • All words: Filters for documents with every searched word in the content.

    • Single phrase: Filters for documents with the exact phrase in the content.

    • Any words: Filters for documents with any of the searched words in the content.

  5. Type your search term.

  6. Select Apply.

The oval icon next to the view name displays the number of items found.

Search filter

Use the Search filter to search meta data across all available text in both standard and custom text properties, and in lookup fields. The Search filter complements the Document Content filter.

The Search filter retrieves documents whenever your query phrase exactly matches or starts any word within the included properties.

For example, when the value contains : 'The quick brown fox, jumps over the lazy dog', the following are possible matching and non-matching phrases:

  • Matching phrases :

    • quick

    • quick brown

    • bro

    • quick bro

  • Non-matching phrases :

    • rown

    • rown fox

    • quick fox

To use the search filter:

  1. Click Enter Text... in the Search filter.

  2. Type the phrase, word, or number you want to search.
  3. Select Enter.

The oval icon next to the view name displays the number of items found.

ClosedRemove filters

You can remove all applied filters by clicking Remove All Filters A gray button with two pieces of paper sitting next to each other on it. on the filter bar. To remove only one filter, click Delete on the left side of the desired filter. You can also restore the Default Filters by selecting ReturnA gray Back button.. The default filters are based on the column views configuration for Master Documents and Master Asset.

ClosedSort the items list

To sort the items list, click the column heading you wish to sort by. The list refreshes and displays items in ascending order A gray up arrow.. Click the heading again to sort in descending order A gray down arrow.. An indicator next to the column heading shows the current sort direction.
