Edit KPI

Advanced users can edit KPI definitions displayed on the Dashboard.

If you have sufficient expertise in defining KPI queries, you can also create a new KPI by clicking the New button in the toolbar. You can also clone an existing KPI.

  1. Click Edit at the lower-right corner of the KPI.

  2. Update available configurations as needed.

  3. Click Apply.

You can configure the following:

  • KPI name: Identifier for the KPI, usually describing the data shown

  • Description: Additional details about the data shown for the KPI

  • Managed by: The repair center managing the KPI

    You need access to the specified repair center to view or edit the KPI.

  • Display order: Determines the order in which the KPI displays in its group on the dashboard

  • Active?: Indicates whether the KPI is active or inactive

  • Units / label: Text indicating the items measured in the KPI, such as work orders, open requests, and so on

  • Percent?: Indicates whether the measurements shown on the KPI are a percentage

  • Decimals: Determines how many digits trail after the decimal point

  • Click action: Determines the action taken when you click on the KPI in the dashboard

    • System default: Retains the default click-action for the KPI, usually navigating you to the area of the application where you can take action on the items shown in the KPI

      This option only appears for base or system cards that appear on the legacy Home Summary page.

    • Not known / specified: No click-action applied to the API

    • JavaScript: Clicking the KPI card runs the JavaScript defined for Click URL, which appears when you select the JavaScript click-action

      With the release of the new Home Summary dashboard, this option is only available on KPIs for which this click-action was applied prior to the update.

    • Open report: Clicking the KPI card opens the corresponding report for the data shown

      Select report appears when you choose the Open report click-action.

  • Start range: The starting (or minimum) number for the chart displayed for the KPI

  • End range: The ending (or maximum) number for the chart displayed for the KPI

  • Critical range starts: The value where the green band ends and the yellow band starts on the Gauge and Solid gauge KPI styles, indicating the point at which the KPI is in a critical state

  • Alert range starts: The value where the yellow band ends and the orange band starts the Gauge and Solid gauge KPI styles, indicating the point at which the KPI is in an alert state

    For the Critical number KPI style, the KPI displays in red with a warning icon if the value is above Alert range starts.

  • Unacceptable range starts: The value where the orange band ends and the red band starts on the Gauge and Solid gauge KPI styles, indicating the point at which the KPI is in an unacceptable range

  • Optimal value: Target value for the KPI

  • Show optimal value?: Determines whether the target value shows in the KPI card

  • Trend?: Determines whether the KPI uses tracking

    You should only use this option with assistance from a Professional Services representative.

  • Display format: Determines the KPI style (Gauge, Solid gauge, and Critical number)
