Set Preferences for Rapid Entry Tool
Preferences that determine the fields that are displayed on the Rapid Entry tool can be set from a tab within the tool, or from the general Work Order Preferences. For general instructions on setting preferences, see our Work Order Preferences article.

Select Tools > Work Order > Work Order Rapid Entry from the main menu.
The Work Order Rapid Entry window opens.

Select the Preferences Tab.
You can also access the work order rapid entry preferences from the Preferences window.
Each of the available preferences for the work order Rapid Entry tool display along with their current values. You can use the scroll bar to view additional values.
There are two preferences available for most fields: one to designate whether or not the field should be displayed on the tool, and one to designate a default value for that field if it is displayed.

Indicate whether you are changing preferences for the repair center, or just for your personal use.
This can be set using the setting at the top of the window.

If more than one repair center can be specified, select the repair center from the available options in the field.

Designate whether or not a field should be displayed on the work order Rapid Entry tool:

Click the Display prompt for that field.
The Set Preference window opens, allowing you to designate whether or not that field should be displayed.

Choose between two options:

Select Yes to have the field displayed.

Select No to not display the field.

Click Apply.
The Preferences window appears with your new settings.

Set a default value for any field that has been designated for inclusion:

Click the Default Value prompt for that field.
The Set Preference window opens, allowing you to designate a default value for the field.

Enter a value in the Current Value field on the right side of the dialog.
The type of entry allowed depends on the type of field.

Click Apply.
The Preferences window appears with your new settings.

Click the Create Work Orders tab to view the impact of the settings you selected.

To exit the work order Rapid Entry tool, click Close.
