Text Message: Event Recipients
The Event Recipients sub-tab allows you to specify the roles, associated with the affected record, that should receive a text though the Text Message action. For example, a Shop Supervisor might be selected to receive a text for a rule associated with the shut down of an asset.
Event Recipients must have an SMS or MMS Email Address on their record—for example, the Contact tab of the Labor Record. As an example, Verizon uses [[email protected]] for standard SMS text messaging and [[email protected]] for MMS. Similarly, AT&T uses [[email protected]] for standard SMS text messaging and [[email protected]] for MMS.
The carrier's MMS gateway must be used if photos will be included in the text, or else the message may be rejected by the carrier.
Additional information on SMS/MMS formats are listed below the Asset and Labor Photo indicators on the Settings sub-tab.
Individually named recipients can be specified on the Recipients sub-tab.
Designate event recipients for a text message:
-
Ensure the Text Message action is selected.
-
Click the Event Recipients sub-tab.
-
Select the check boxes for the appropriate recipients.
You can specify as many event recipients as needed. Ensure that the recipients you select are logical for the event associated with the rule. For example, a rule based on a Purchase Order event should not logically be tied to Assigned Labor. Also, you must ensure that the recipient has an SMS Email Address on their record.
