Smart Label Manager

The Smart Label Manager allows you to tailor the content of labels, messages, buttons, and tabs. It is most commonly used by organizations with members that speak languages other than English to dynamically translate text, but can also be used by English speakers who want to customize the user interface.

Maintenance Connection allows you to display the application in a different language by selecting a value from the Language menu in the top-right corner of the application. This language translation is done on-the-fly through Google Translate and is then stored to allow for more rapid access. The Smart Label Manager can be used to modify the translated labels for cultural nuances or errors and then store these corrections. This is especially valuable with messages, where there are likely to be more translation errors.

The Smart Label Manager cannot be used to edit the English language. However, if you want to customize English labels, tabs, buttons, and messages, you can edit and use the English (Custom) language.

Translations made using the Smart Label Manager are not carried over to MC Express. For English speaking members, the Help Editor (for UDFs) and the Forms Manager can be used to modify the field labels and ensure these modifications are carried through to the Reporter and MC Express. If you need assistance with label translation in MC Express, contact Support.
