Count Inventory
You can maintain quantities obtained during physical counts of a store room. The inventory count can be saved until you are ready to apply these counts to the system, at which point the Apply Counts feature is used to create appropriate adjustments to inventory.
The Adjust Inventory feature can also be used to adjust inventory quantities. The Count Inventory feature is preferred by organizations that want to store or save the quantities until the physical counts are complete.
Adjust inventory quantities:
-
Select Actions > Count Inventory from the Main Menu.
The Count Inventory window opens, listing all inventory items maintained in the designated stock room. A row is displayed for each inventory item in the currently specified stock room. Items with multiple bins in the stock room show a record for each bin in which inventory is recorded.
-
Find the records you want to update.
You can use the Items with Count Values Only check box to limit the results to those inventory items with count values.
Each item listed shows the current on hand inventory and provides a field to enter an updated count. Upon entering an updated count, Maintenance Connection calculates the difference, identifying the adjustment to inventory that will be made.
-
For each inventory item you want to update, enter the correct physical count in the Count field.
When you exit the field, Maintenance Connection automatically updates the Difference field. The amount in the Difference field is applied as an inventory adjustment when these counts are applied.
-
Click Apply.
You can continue to update inventory counts as needed. The counts entered remain saved until they are applied to inventory.
-
Click Close.
Once physical counts have been recorded, you can proceed to Apply the Counts.
