Adjust Inventory Quantities
You can update inventory quantities for multiple items from a single window. This feature is especially helpful for correcting quantities after a physical count is performed in an individual stock room.
The Count Inventory Items feature can also be used to adjust inventory quantities. The Count Inventory feature is preferred by organizations that want to store or save quantities until the physical counts are complete.
Adjust inventory quantities:
-
Select Actions > Adjust Inventory from the Main Menu.
The Adjust Inventory window opens, listing all inventory items maintained in the designated stock room. Items with multiple bins in the stock room show a record for each bin in which inventory is recorded.
A row for each inventory item is displayed in the currently specified stock room and/or filter. Each row identifies the item and lists the current inventory levels as follows:
-
OH: Number of items currently on hand. This number should correspond to the actual number of items currently in stock.
-
A: Number of items currently available. This number is calculated by subtracting the number reserved from the number on hand. This means the available designation indicates the inventory available if estimated parts are used as anticipated.
-
R: Number of items on reserve. Items are placed on reserve when estimated parts are defined for a work order.
-
RP: Reorder point.
-
-
For each inventory item, enter the following:
-
Enter the quantity listed on hand in the OH field.
When you exit the field, Maintenance Connection automatically updates the quantity available as appropriate.
-
If necessary, correct the reorder point.
-
If necessary, update the cost and charge rates associated with this stock room.
-
-
Click Apply.
Inventory transactions are created for each adjustment made. These transactions can be viewed on Inventory Transactions: Adjustments. The transactions are labeled: Adjustment (Adj Tool).
-
Click Close.
The window closes.
