Projects

The Projects module stores projects that are created to organize groups of work orders and track their progress together. Work orders that are part of the same project can be easily accessed and viewed together, but are not related in the same fashion as a defined work order group. In a Work Order Group, the work orders are typically acted upon together. In a project, the work orders are managed independently.

The Projects module integrates with the Project Plans module, allowing project templates to be created to allow for the generation of similar projects on a recurring basis. The Project Plan module also allows work order dependencies to be defined for a given project.

This module can also be used for the purpose of creating an asset group that can be easily identified and accessed for reporting purposes. In this type of implementation, a project is created with assets manually added on the Assets/Locations tab. Work orders are not typically associated with this type of project.

Access the Projects module:

  1. Choose between two options:

    • Click the Open button on the toolbar.

    • Click the Module menu button displayed in the List pane.

      The Module menu will display.

  2. Click the Projects option.

    • If you accessed the Module menu from the Open button, the Projects list and the Projects Work Center Home Page will display.

    • If you accessed the Module menu from the Module Menu button, the Projects list will display, but the content of the Work Center will not change until you have selected a record.

The projects defined for your organization are listed in the Projects List. Click a project to open and view it in the Work Center.
