Advanced Layout

You can apply advanced layout settings to your report. If you created your report based on an existing report, the layout may already be configured.

  1. In the report that you are editing, click Report Settings > Advanced Layout.

  2. Select the option you want:

    • Show group nested : If you have grouped data fields and want the data to become nested based on your group hierarchy. This adds columns and rows to the report.

    • Show group side-by-side: If you have grouped data fields and want the data grouped side-by-side in the layout. This adds columns to the report.

    • Show group in first column: If you have grouped data fields and want the data grouped within the first column of the report. This adds rows to the report.

  3. To align cell data, click:

    • Left-Align: Align the contents of your field to the left.

    • Center-Align: Center-align the contents of your field.

    • Right-Align: Align the contents of your field to the right.

  4. To toggle text wrapping on and off, click the link to the right of the alignment buttons in the cell:

    • Click Wrap to toggle text wrapping on in the cell.

    • Click Fit to toggle text wrapping off in the cell.

  5. To change the size of a cell, click:

    • A small gray square button which looks like an arrow pointing right. Expand Right: Increase the width of the current cell by one cell width.

    • A small gray square button which looks like an arrow pointing left. Collapse Left: Decrease the width of the current cell by one cell width.

    • A small gray square button which looks like an arrow pointing down. Expand Down: Increase the height of the current cell by one cell height.

    • A small gray square button which looks like an arrow pointing up. Collapse Up: Decrease the height of the current cell by one cell height.

  6. To change the alignment of the field in the cell, click:

    • A small gray button which looks like a rectangle that has a horizontal line to its left. Field to the Right: Move the field to the right of the cell label.

    • A small gray button which looks like a rectange with three dots in a line above the rectangle. Field Below: Move the field below the cell label.

  7. To add fields to an expanding section below the main row of data in your generated report, select a field from the second row.

  8. Repeat the previous step to add additional fields.

  9. Click Finish.

    The window closes.

  10. To save your changes, click Save in the header of the Report Builder, to the right of the report name.
