Index values

You can use budget index variables to modify the default value of one or more budget line items based upon a predefined variable condition. For example, if your System Administrator knows that your typical project construction costs are lower in a certain region, they can create a Construction Costs variable that you can use to adjust budget columns by a percentage value.

1. Click Index Values in the Actions menu on the rightmost side of the page.

   The Index Values page opens.

2. Select the column type you want to adjust from the Index Values for Column Type field.

   The variables for this column type appear in a table below the field.

3. Enter the percentage value you want to adjust by in the Percentage Value of the appropriate variable.

   Important!

   This may impact more than one budget line item. If you have questions about how an index variable is configured, contact your System Administrator.

4. Repeat step 3 as necessary.

5. Click Update Values.

   A success message appears.

6. Click Budget Summary or Budget Creation buttons in the Actions menu on the right side of the page to see your updated budget values.
