Word / Phrase Match Setting For Search

The Word / Phrase Match setting changes how the system performs searches. This setting applies to Regular Search, Advanced Search, and Dashboard widgets.

Important!

You can use double quotes in searches to achieve the same results without enabling this feature.

With the Word / Phrase Match setting ENABLED, double quotes in your searches will impact returned search results. With the setting disabled, you can continue to use double quotes in your searches as you have previously.

We recommend you only enable this setting if exact word matches are the only type of searches you want to do.

With the Word / Phrase Match setting DISABLED, the system searches like so:
