Advanced Dashboards - Amazon QuickSight
Amazon QuickSight is a cloud-based business intelligence (BI) tool. When integrated with Accruent Field, QuickSight helps you create and share dashboards and reports. It replaces DOMO as the default advanced dashboard provider. This integration adds advanced dashboard capabilities directly in Accruent Field.
These are the capabilities Amazon Quicksight supports:
-
Data preparation: Clean, transform, and combine data for better visualizations.
-
Data visualization: Create graphs, charts, and other visualizations with a drag-and-drop interface. You can create custom dashboards and collections to organize, analyze, and report business data.
-
Data permissions: Control data access by role, department, or KPI.
-
Data sharing: Schedule reports for individuals or groups at specific dates and times.

Analyses and dashboards
QuickSight separates author and reader experiences into analyses and dashboards. It has three main roles: Admin, Author, and Reader.
| Role | Description |
|---|---|
| Admin | Can add and update datasets. They can also complete administrative tasks, such as purchasing additional SPICE capacity. Admins can also complete Author and Reader tasks. |
| Author | Are able to edit analyses and publish dashboards. In Accruent Field, users with the Solution Admin or Solution Developer role also have Author permissions. |
| Reader | Readers can view and interact with dashboards. In Accruent Field, users with the Web User role, or a similar role, also have Reader permissions. |
An analysis represents the author experience. You create and edit dashboards, build visuals, and adjust filters. A dashboard represents the reader experience. You view content, interact with visuals, and export data.
Cross-organization data access
Organizations can share data across related entities. For example, a parent organization can use data from child organizations by pointing to the same namespace. This setup allows you to create dashboards that combine data from multiple organizations.
Reader view
The Reader view appears in the QuickSight Dashboard module inside the Accruent Field web app. Users with a Web User role, or a similar role, have Reader permissions.
Out-of-the-box dashboards
By default, the Reader view provides access to these dashboards.
-
Work Order by Status, shown as a pie chart
-
Tasks by Status, shown as a pie chart
-
Technician Efficiency, shown as a bar chart
-
Task Completion Rate by day, shown as a bar chart
-
SLA Compliance, shown as a bar chart
Reader actions
As a Reader, you can complete these actions:
-
Filter dashboards: Filter dashboards at the page level or for individual visualizations.
-
Drill down: Double-click a dashboard item to see more detail.
-
Export data: Export visualization data to a CSV file.

If you have the Solution Admin or Solution Developer role, you can edit and publish changes to default dashboards from Studio Z.

Standard chart types
QuickSight supports these standard visual types:
| Visual type | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Single measure bar chart | Show values for a single measure across one dimension grouped by another dimension. Each bar represents the grouped dimension, and each partition represents the child dimension value. |
| Clustered bar chart | Compare values for a single measure across one dimension grouped by another dimension. Each group represents the parent dimension, and each bar represents the child dimension. |
| Stacked bar chart | Show values for a single measure across one dimension grouped by another dimension. Each bar represents the grouped dimension, and each partition represents the child dimension percentage. |
| Stacked 100 percent bar chart | Show changes for one or more dimensions over time. |
| Line chart | Compare values with color-coded areas below each line. |
| Area line chart | Compare values with lines and color-coded areas below each line. |
| Combo chart | Combine a line chart and a bar chart to compare two types of data. |
| Pie chart | Show how dimension values relate to each other as proportions. |

| Gauge chart | Compare one dimension with another dimension. |
| Key performance indicator (KPI) | Show a key value and its target value. |
| Scatter plot | Compare two or three measures for a dimension. Bubble size represents the number of items for each measure intersection. |

| Tree map | Show one or two measures for a dimension. Each rectangle size represents the value proportion compared with other values. |
| Word cloud | Show how often words appear compared with other words in a dataset. |
| Geospatial chart | Map values for one or more dimensions across geographic locations. Circle size represents the value for each location compared with other locations. |
