Define Production Areas and Production Items for a Catering Resource

Production items define the components required to produce a resource. For example, a resource named Box Lunch might include a sandwich, chips, cookies, and bottled water. EMS uses production items to calculate the quantities required to fulfill orders.

Production areas identify where production items are prepared. For example, a Delicatessen production area might prepare sandwiches, chips, and bottled water, while a Bakery production area might prepare cookies.

If a category is configured to use production items, you can designate resources as production items during resource configuration or define them later.
