Configure Pricing Plans

A pricing plan combines one or more rate schedules. When a pricing plan is applied to a reservation, EMS uses the assigned rate schedules to calculate pricing for billable items.

You can also apply calculations through pricing plans. After you configure pricing plans, you can assign a default pricing plan to a group. When users create reservations for that group, EMS automatically displays the pricing plan in the Pricing Plan field on the Billing tab of the Reservation Wizard.

To help track discounts and pricing configurations, periodically export your pricing plans.

Configure a pricing plan

  1. Select Configuration > Billing > Pricing Plans.
  2. The Pricing Plans window opens.
  3. Optional: To display all pricing plans regardless of status, select Inactive in Show.
  4. Select New.
  5. The Pricing Plan window opens.
  6. In Pricing Plan, enter a description of up to 30 characters.
  7. Optional: Configure calculations for the pricing plan.
  8. Optional: Assign rate schedules to billable items.
  9. Select OK.

Configure calculations

To configure calculations, select a value in Calculation Type.

Calculation type Description
In Addition to Group The group pays the calculations assigned to the pricing plan in addition to any calculations already assigned to the group.
Override Group The pricing plan calculations replace calculations assigned at the group level.

To assign calculations to the pricing plan:

  1. Open the Calculations tab.
  2. Select one or more calculations in the Available list.
  3. Select the move button (>) to move the calculations to the Selected list.

If a calculation is not available, configure the calculation before creating the pricing plan.

Assign rate schedules

  1. Open the Rate Schedules tab.
  2. For each billable category, double-click the Rate Schedule field.
  3. Select the rate schedule that you want EMS to use for that category.

If you do not assign a rate schedule to a resource category or to Room Charge, EMS sets the price for those items to zero when the pricing plan is used.
