Floorplans

The Floorplan feature in EMS Direct Spaces enhances your experience by providing a graphical representation of your workspace. This functionality allows you to visualize and interact with the layout, simplifying the management of bookings and the location of resources.

Key Features

  • Interactive Maps: View detailed floorplans, including rooms, desks, and other resources. Zoom in and out, and click on specific areas to explore further.

  • Booking Integration: Make reservations directly from the floorplan view by selecting specific rooms or desks based on availability.

  • Location-Based Services: If you consent to share your location, the application provides directions to specific rooms or resources within the building.

Setup Requirements

To enable Floorplan functionality, complete the following configurations:

  • EMS Environment: Configure your EMS environment with the necessary intents and process templates.

  • User Configuration: Set yourself up as an Everyday User in EMS with access to configured intents and process templates.

  • Ensure you configure floorplans for the buildings in your process template. Learn how to install the EMS Floor Plans server components.

Using Floorplans

The Floorplan feature in EMS Direct Spaces helps you efficiently book desks by providing a visual layout of available spaces. Follow these steps to use the Floorplan functionality:

  1. From the Home screen, tap Create Event.

  2. Select Book a Desk to navigate to the Search Availability screen.

  3. Locate the Search for Floor Plans button at the bottom right of the screen. This button becomes clickable after you select a building, date, time, and any other pertinent filters.

  4. Select Search Floorplans to display an image of the floorplan.

    1. Available desks are marked with green check marks on the floorplan.

  5. Tap on a desk to view its description, including details like:

    Location

    Capacity

    Setup

  6. Tap Select to choose the desk. The green checkmark turns blue, indicating your selection.

  1. With your desired spaces selected, tap the blue Continue button in the upper right corner.

  2. A message appears saying Validating Selection, and you are directed to the Create Event page.

  3. On the Create Event page, confirm your event time, location, attendees, and other details.

  4. Submit the event or Start over if needed.

Navigating the Floorplan

  • Zoom in and zoom out using the magnifying glass icons to adjust your view.

  • Interact with the map by dragging and pinching to explore different areas.
