Allocations with Multiple Buildings

You can include multiple buildings in a single allocation plan. This approach is useful when planning space across a campus or a group of related buildings.

After adding multiple buildings, assign departments to floors across all buildings in the allocation plan.

Add buildings to an allocation plan

After you create an allocation plan and add the first building, the Assign allocations page opens.

  1. In View, select Allocation.
  2. Select Add building.
  3. Select a building from the list.

Buildings already included in the allocation plan do not appear in the list.

The building's floors appear on the Assign allocations page under the building name.

Remove a building from an allocation plan

If the building contains assigned departments, remove those departments before removing the building.

  1. On the Assign allocations page, select Allocation in View.
  2. Locate the building.
  3. Open the settings menu.
  4. Select Remove building.

Assign departments to floors

Buildings must contain floors before you can create department assignments. If floors do not appear, ask your administrator to add them to the building configuration.

  1. Drag an unassigned department to a floor in the allocation plan.
  2. If necessary, enter at least three characters in the search box to locate a department.
  3. On the department assignment card, enter desk-sharing ratio values for headcount and spaces.
  4. Select the check mark to save the assignment.
  5. Optional: Select the restore icon to cancel the assignment.
  6. Repeat for additional departments.

After you save an assignment, the system updates the allocation bar to show capacity percentage, total spaces, and available spaces.

The system also updates the department assignment information displayed on the floor and in the department list.

Manage over-capacity floors

If assigned departments exceed the available space on a floor, ASI displays the capacity overage percentage and indicates how many spaces exceed the floor capacity.

To resolve an over-capacity condition, move departments to other floors or buildings within the allocation plan.
