Allocations with Multiple Buildings

You can create a single allocation plan that includes many buildings. For instance, include multiple buildings in a single allocation plan to represent a campus. Then assign departments to floors across buildings.

Add multiple buildings on the Assign allocations page.

  1. After you create an allocation and add a building, the Assign allocations page opens.

  2. In View, select Allocation.

  3. Click Add building.

  4. Select a building from the list. Buildings previously added to the allocation do not show as available in the list.

The building's floors show on the same Allocations page under their assigned building name.

Remove building

You can remove one or more buildings from the allocation plan. If the building contains 1 or more assigned departments, first remove departments from the building, then remove the building.

  1. On the Assign allocations page, in View, select Allocation.

  2. Scroll through the page to locate the building you want to remove.

  3. Click the cog menu on the right and select Remove building.

Assign departments to floors

When a building has floors, they display on the building allocation page. If the building doesn't have floors listed, your system administrator needs to include them in the building's configuration.

  1. Drag and drop an unassigned department to a floor in any building within the allocation plan.

If your organization has a long list of departments, type at least 3 characters in the search box. Departments that match show in the list.

  2. On the assigned department block, enter the desk sharing ratio values for headcount and number of spaces.

    • To confirm the assignment and values, click the check mark.

    • To cancel, click the restore icon.

The allocation bar updates the capacity percent, total number of spaces, and number of spaces available. The department block updates with the headcount and spaces on both the floor bar and Department list.

  3. Assign departments as needed.

If you assign departments to a floor that collectively exceeds the available spaces on the floor, the capacity shows the percent overage, and the number of spaces shows how many over the maximum available. In this case, you can restack departments across floors in any building you added to the allocation plan.
