Work Order Procedures Grid: Attach and Manage Procedure Records
View and manage procedures from the Procedures tab on the Work order form. This update introduces a full set of tools to view, add, edit, and remove procedural work requirements from a single location.
View procedures on a work order
Navigate to the Procedures tab on the Work order form to see all procedures attached to that work order. The grid displays the following details for each procedure:
- Procedure #: The unique identifier for the procedure.
- Description: The procedural details.
- Est. Hours: The estimated time for completion.
- Checklist: An indicator for associated checklists.
The Procedures supports all work order types, including standard, preventative maintenance (PM), planned equipment (PE), and inspection (IN).
Add a procedure to a work order
If you have Full access to the Work orders edit command, attach a procedure to a work order from the Procedures tab.
When you add a procedure:
-
The Add form includes a procedure lookup, a read-only description, and a required Estimated hours field.
- The procedure lookup only shows active procedures from the work order's segment.
- Select Another to add multiple procedures in succession.
- If you add a duplicate procedure, the system displays an inline error.
Permissions
- If you have Full access to the Work orders edit command, you can add or remove procedures on non-scheduled work orders. This excludes PM, IN, and PE types.
- The system restricts these users from adding or removing procedures on scheduled work orders (PM, IN, and PE).
- Only users with Admin permissions for the Work orders edit command can add or remove procedures on PM, IN, and PE work orders.
Edit estimated hours on an attached procedure
Edit the Estimated hours for a procedure you have added to a work order. The edit form shows Procedure number and Description as read-only context.
Remove a procedure from a work order
If you have Full access to the Work orders edit command, remove a procedure from a work order. A confirmation dialog appears before the system deletes the record.
The system restricts removal in the following situations:
- Time charges: If the procedure includes recorded time charges, the system displays Unable to remove: Procedure linked to time charges.
- Labor assignments: If the procedure has labor assignments, the system displays Unable to remove: Procedure linked to labor assignments.
