Email Response Code Errors Using an iPhone

An email response code allows users to update work requests via email or text message. They are most often used to change status, add comments, reassign, or add labor records to work orders through a mobile device.

Certain iPhone configurations can result in a work order update failure. If an engineer responds to a work order notification email, but the system adds a comment to the work order (starting with "Apple Mail") instead of updating the work order status, check the following iPhone email configurations.

iCloud Email

Email response code updates do not work properly with accounts set up as iCloud email accounts. If the email was set up using iCloud, the email account will need to be removed and set using another email client, such as Microsoft Exchange

Increase Quote Level Setting

This setting controls the indent level of email responses and can cause problems when using email response codes.

  1. Click the Settings icon on your iPhone.
  2. Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  3. Set Increase Quote Level to Off.
