FCA Overview

Facility Condition Assessment (FCA) is the process of maximizing the return on investment from assets and it should be used as a guide to determine whether it is more cost-effective to continue to maintain, overhaul or replace existing assets. When FCA is configured, asset conditions can be recorded at the same time existing scheduled preventative maintenance is being conducted. Repair/replace information being gathered at the time of scheduled tasks saves time and money.

All results of FCA inspections are automatically associated with the asset details page so you can view trends related to asset condition, repair and/or replacement costs. Reports can show the last value of FCA scores and, by implementing trend analysis, you can evaluate how well the asset is being maintained over time.

The implementation of FCA requires procurement by your organization and the module must be enabled/turned on by your system administrator.

Once enabled, the following system modules and administrative pages will be impacted.

ClosedInspection Classes and Types

A new flag is installed at the Inspection Class level to flag an Inspection Class as related to FCA. The flag is:

ClosedFCA Rank Page

A new administrative page has been created to rank assets specific to FCA . See FCA Ranks for more information.

ClosedAsset Detail Page

When FCA is enabled, an entirely new section will be displayed within "Asset details". Below is a description of the information but reference Asset Details for additional details.

This will display all FCA inspections that were created in descending order by create date. This will include the FCA inspection ID which can be selected, Class/Type, Asset Name and overall Score. By selecting the ID, a user can view the FCA inspection itself.
The other item that is enabled on the asset is the FCA Rank.
