Worker Availability

The Worker Availability page allows you to designate a backup person to serve as a replacement for an employee for work order assignment over a given period of time. This feature is useful to allow work orders to be automatically reassigned while a particular person is unavailable (for example, on vacation).

Worker Availability will only affect new work requests made during the specified time period. It does not reassign existing work orders and will not be applied to work orders created by an external system through integration. For information about permanently reassigning all work orders from one user to another, see the Other Options pane on the Edit a User page. This page can only be accessed by a system administrator.

To change Worker Availability:

1. Access the Schedule module by clicking the Schedule link at the top of the page.

2. Select the Workloading tab.

3. Click the Worker Availability link.

4. At the top of the page, select the Employee whose work orders should be reassigned.

5. In the Dates fields, select two dates to define the beginning and end of the date range during which requests will be reassigned.

6. Click the Select link to specify the Backup Person to whom the work orders will be reassigned.

7. In the Times fields, select two times to further define beginning and end of the range during which requests will be reassigned.

   If times are not entered, the system reassigns work requests created at any time on the specified days. Time values are often used if reassignments are made based on work shifts.

8. Click ADD.

   The reassignment is added to the list. Multiple reassignments can be made for different times during the same date range.

The backup person is only notified of initial request assignments. Other notifications, such as reassignments or request escalations, are not redirected.

If the backup person is unavailable, the system will redirect requests to the backup person's backup person.
