Find Inventory

The Find Inventory page allows you to search for inventory items based on a set of criteria you define. Once you have located the desired items, you can select one from the search results and view or modify the item detail information.

To find items:

  1. Access the Inventory module by clicking the Inventory link at the top of the page.
  2. Select the Find Item tab.

    The Find Item page opens.

  3. Specify any of the following criteria to define the set of items you want to find:

    • Material Item – Click the Select link to find items using the Part number, FIN, Supplier Part number, Description, or Barcode. If you select a value, a warehouse will be selected as well. You can clear the warehouse field, if needed.
    • Warehouse – Select a value to find items associated with a particular warehouse.
    • Material Class – Select a value to find items of a particular class. Material class defines the type or classification of the item, for example, automotive or plumbing.
    • Item Type – Select a value to find all items, only stock items, or only non-stock items.
    • Property – Click the Select link to find items that are stored in a warehouse that is associated with a particular property.
    • Region – Select a value to find items that are stored in a warehouse that is associated with any property in a particular region.
    • Warehouse Item Status - Select a value to find active items, inactive items, or all items of any status.
  4. Once your search criteria are defined, click FIND.

    Above the result list, the total number of results is displayed. If more than 1000 results are returned, a message appears asking you to further define your criteria.

    If you searched by Material Item and Warehouse, the results contain items in the selected warehouse, as well as other locations where the part is also stored.

    The following columns of data are displayed. You can sort the list by clicking any of the column headings that appear as links.

    • Item – the item description; clicking this link opens the Material Item Details page

    • Part# – the item's part number

    • Warehouse – the warehouse the item is stored in

    • Qty On Hand – the current quantity of items stored in the specified warehouse

    • Reorder Pt – the quantity threshold at which more items should be reordered

    • Material Class– the classification of the item

    • Status - the status of the item (Active or Inactive)
    • HIST/TRAN

      • For Advanced Inventory, a HIST button appears. Click this button to display the Item History page.

      • For Basic Inventory, a TRAN button appears. Click this button to display the Inventory Transactions page.
