Creating a Work Request
If problems are found when performing an inspection, you may want to create a work request so that the problem is addressed. When this occurs, the inspection and the generated work request are linked to each other.
The following types of work requests might be created as a result of an inspection.
Inspection Failure Automatic Work Request
When an inspection template is created, it can be set to automatically generate a work request if the overall inspection score is too low. The designer of the inspection template can set the bottom threshold score and select the type and subType of the work request that will be generated.
If you create an inspection and the score is low enough, a work request is created automatically appears in the Scheduled and/or Corrective Requests pane of the page. The work request also contains a direct link to the inspection.
Manual Overall Work Request
If an automatic work request is not generated and you feel that the inspection indicates that corrective work should be performed, you can manually create a work request from the inspection.
To do so, click the Create Request link at the top of the page to create a work request that is linked to the inspection. The property, location, and asset are copied from the inspection to the work request. In addition, the default statement of work indicates that the request was generated from an inspection. You can select the appropriate type and subType of the work request.
Once created, the work request appears in the Scheduled and/or Corrective Requests pane of the page. The work request also contains a direct link to the inspection.
Manual Item-Specific Work Request
You can also create a work request for a particular item on an inspection. For example, if you are inspecting a bathroom, and there is a problem with the sink, you can create a work request to specifically address the sink.
To do so, click the Comments link to the right of the problematic item in the Inspection Scoring pane. The comment link text may contain comments or may read "Create Request" if no comments were entered for the item. A work request is created where the property, location, and asset are copied from the inspection. In addition, the default statement of work indicates that the request was generated from an inspection and notes the inspection item that needs attention.
A work type and subType, appropriate for the selected item, may also be selected by default. You can use these defaults or change them.
Once created, the work request appears in the Scheduled and/or Corrective Requests pane of the page. The work request also contains a direct link to the inspection.
Scheduled and/or Corrective Requests for this Inspection
This pane lists all of the work requests that are associated with this inspection. Work requests can be associated to an inspection in several ways:
-
An automatically generated work request can be created if the inspection fails to achieve a certain score.
-
A manual work order can be created from the Inspection Details page to correct a problem with the overall piece of equipment or a specific item.
-
An inspection can be generated directly from a work request.
-
An inspection can be generated from a work request or a schedule by attaching a procedure that includes an inspection.
For each work request listed, the following information is displayed:
-
Date – the date on which the request was created
-
ID – the request ID of the work order; clicking this value opens the Request Details page
-
Initiated By – indicates whether the request is corrective or scheduled and provides the name of the user who created the request
-
Property – indicates the property and location where the work is performed
-
Type – indicates Type and subType of the work that will be performed
-
Assigned To – lists the name of the user the work request was assigned to
-
Status/Priority – indicates the current status and priority of the work request
-
View Schedule – Click this link to view all of the current work orders that have been generated by this schedule. If the schedule has not yet been generated, this link is replaced by the text Not Generated.
File Attachments
The File attachments pane allows you to attach external files to an inspection. To attach a file:
-
Click the Browse button to locate a file to attach.
A dialog box opens allows you to locate the file you want to attach. You can attach a file from your local hard disk or any networked drive you can access. Files should be no larger than 20MB; the larger the file, the longer it takes to access.
-
Click UPLOAD FILE.
Each uploaded file appears at the bottom of the pane as a link. If you click a file name, the file opens if you have the appropriate application or plug-in to view it.
If you want to delete an attached file, click the DELETE button to the right of the file name.

The Other Options pane contains the following link:
-
