Meter Site Groups

Meter Site Groups are created to facilitate meter readings. When a meter site is created, it can be assigned to a meter site group so that readings for all meter sites in the group can be taken together. The meter site group values you define populate the Meter Site Group drop-down menu on the Create Utility page when creating a meter site and the Readings page.

To open the Meter Site Groups page:

  1. Open the Administration Menu page.

  2. Under the UTILITY ADMINISTRATION heading, click Meter Site Groups.

Adding a meter site group allows you to define the values that are included in the Meter Site Group drop-down menu on the Create Utility and Readings pages. To create a new meter site group:

  1. Click the Add New link.

    The Add Meter Site Group dialog box opens.

  2. In the Name field, enter a name for the meter site group.

    The name you enter must be unique.

  3. In the Tab Order field, enter a numeric value.

    The Tab Order indicates the position, in menus, where this value will be listed. Lower numbered values are displayed toward the top of the list. Values will the same tab order will be sorted alphabetically.

  4. In the Description field, enter a description of the meter site type.

  5. Click ADD.

    The meter site group is added to the list. The name of the user who added the meter site group and the date and time when it was added are displayed.

Meter site groups can be modified. For example, if you want to change the value that users see, you can modify the name. To edit a meter site group:

  1. Click the Edit link to the right of the meter site group you want to edit.

    The Edit Meter Site Group dialog box opens.

  2. Modify any of the following values:

    • Name – the value that users see
    • Tab Order – the position in which the meter site group will be displayed in drop-down menus
    • Description – information about the meter site group

  3. Click UPDATE.

    The modified meter site group parameters, including the name of the user who edited them and the date and time when they were edited, are displayed.

ClosedDelete a Meter Site Group

Meter site groups that have not been used can be deleted from the system. If a meter site group has been associated with a meter site, it cannot be deleted.

To delete a meter site type:

  1. Click the Edit link to the right of the meter site type you want to delete.

    The Edit Meter Site Group dialog box opens.

  2. Click the Delete link in the top right corner of the dialog box.

    A dialog box opens asking you to confirm your choice.

  3. Click OK.
