Service Types (Reporting)
Service types are classifications for work requests that allow information about the request to be tracked for reporting purposes, both on Logbook reports and the Logbook Dashboard. The values defined on this page are used to populate the Service Type drop-down menu on the Request Types and SubTypes page when defining request subTypes.
To open the Service Types page:
-
Open the Administration Menu page.
-
Under the LOGBOOK ADMINISTRATION heading, click Service Types.
Service types indicate the type of service being performed and the group that is performing the service. For example, you could create a service type of Engineering with a service group of HVAC. To add a service type:
- In the Type Name field, enter a name for the service type.
-
In the Service Group field, enter a name for the service group.
Service groups can be used to indicate an internal or third-party group that performs a particular service.
- Click ADD.
To edit a service type:
- In the Service Type field, select the service type you want to modify.
-
In the Modify Service Type pane, modify any of the following fields:
- Rename – the name of the service type
- Service Group – the name of the service group associated with the service type
- Click UPDATE.
Service types that have not been used can be deleted from the system. You cannot delete a service type if it has been used on a work request.
A service type that is associated with a request subType cannot be deleted. You must first disassociate the service type from all request subTypes.
To delete a service type:
- In the Service Type field, select the service type you want to delete.
-
Click DELETE.
A dialog box opens asking you to confirm your choice.
Click OK.
