Procedure Types
Procedure types are used to group/categorize procedures in the Knowledge module. The values defined on this page are used to populate the Procedure Type drop-down menu on the Edit Procedure page and are also included in the Asset 6 Month Request History and Asset Compliance reports.
To open the Procedure Types page:

Open the Administration Menu page.

Under the KNOWLEDGE ADMIN heading, click Procedure Types.
All of the currently defined procedure types are listed.
To add a procedure type:

Click ADD PROCEDURE TYPE.
A new, editable row appears at the top of the page, allowing you to enter a new procedure type.

In the Name field, enter the name of the procedure type.
This is the value that will be displayed to users.

In the Active field, select a Yes/No value.
Active procedure types are displayed to users; inactive procedure types are not. Inactivating a procedure type does not affect the existing procedures that utilize it.

In the Tab Order field, enter a numeric value.
The Tab Order indicates the position, in menus, where this value will be listed. Lower numbered values are displayed toward the top of the list. Values will the same tab order will be sorted alphabetically.

Click SUBMIT.
The procedure type is added to the list. The name of the user who added the procedure type and the date and time it was added are displayed.
Once you have created a procedure type, you can edit it. To edit a procedure type:

Click the EDIT button to the right of the procedure type you want to edit.
The procedure type parameters become editable.

Modify any of the following values:
- Name – the name of the procedure type
- Active – Yes indicates that the procedure type is active (displayed to users)
- Tab Order – the position in which the procedure type will be displayed in drop-down menus

Click UPDATE.
The modified procedure type parameters, including the name of the user who edited them and the date and time when they were edited, are displayed.
Procedure types that have not been used can be deleted from the system.
Procedure types that have been associated with procedures cannot be deleted, but they can be inactivated to prevent users from accessing them.
To delete a procedure type:

Click DELETE button to the right of the procedure type to delete.
A dialog box opens asking you to confirm your choice.

Click OK.
