Area Types
Area types are used in dashboard reporting to group inspection items together. For example, a property could have inspection items of exterior west corridor and interior west corridor, but both can have an area type of west.
To add an area type:

Open the Administration Menu page.

Under the INSPECTION ADMIN heading, click Area Types.

In the Area Type field, enter a name for the area type.
Do not include ampersand ( & ) characters in the area type name; these characters cause errors when filtering by inspection area on the Inspection Dashboard page.

In the Benchmark field, enter a benchmark value.
The benchmark is a percentage from 0-100. The dashboard will graphically display the number of inspections that scored above or below this value.

Click ADD.
The area type is added and additional area type options appear.

In the Tab Order field enter a value to control where in the value is displayed in drop-down menus. Lower tab order values are displayed at the top.

In the Status field, select either Active or Inactive.

Click UPDATE.
From here, Area Types can be associated with Inspection Items (see Inspection Items) and associated with properties (see Area Type by Property). This makes it useful for inspection reporting.
