Event Document Types
Event Document Types are used to identify the types of documents that can be associated with an event, for example, a Sign-in Sheet or a Contact List. These values populate the Document Type drop-down menu that appears when a user clicks the Add File Attachment link on the Event module's Create Event page.
To open the Event Document Types page:
-
Open the Administration Menu page.
-
Under the EVENT ADMIN heading, click Document Types.
To add a document type:
-
In the Add Document Type field, enter the name of the document type.
This is the value that will be displayed to users.
Event document type names must be unique. If you attempt to add an event document type that already exists, an error message will appear. The system does not consider event document type names that are differentiated only by character case to be unique. For example, if you create an event document type named "Field Manual", creating an event document type named "field manual" is not allowed.
-
Click ADD.
A dialog box opens asking you to confirm your choice.
-
Click OK.
Once you have created a document type, you can further define it or edit it. To edit a document type:
-
In the Document Type field, select the type to edit.
-
To change the name of the document type, enter a value in the Rename field.
All historical information will reflect the new value.
