Company Document Types
Company Document Types are used to define the type of contract for a vendor or other service provider in the Company module (for example, Certificates of Insurance, Contracts, and Leases). These values populate the Document Type drop-down menu on the Create Document page.
To open the Company Document Types page:

Open the Administration Menu page.

Under the COMPANY ADMIN heading, click Company Document Types.
To add a company document type:

In the Add Document Type field, enter the name of the document type.
This is the value that will be displayed to users.

In the Default field, select Yes to make this the default type for new documents.
Only one document type can have this flag set to Yes.
- In the Lease Type field, select Yes if this document type identifies a type of lease.

Click ADD.
A dialog box opens asking you to confirm your choice.
- Click OK.
Once you have created a document type, you can edit it. To edit a document type:

In the Document Type field, select the document type to edit.

To change the name of the document type, enter a value in the Rename field.
All historical information will reflect the new value.

Enter a numeric value in the Tab Order field to change the display order.
The Tab Order indicates the position, in menus, where this value will be listed. Lower numbered values are displayed toward the top of the list. Values will the same tab order will be sorted alphabetically.

In the Default field, select Yes to make this the default type for new documents.
Only one document type can have this flag set to Yes.
- In the Lease field, select Yes if this document type identifies a type of lease.
- In the Cert of Insurance field, select Yes if this document type identifies a type of certificate of insurance.

To change the status, select a value in the Status field.
Document status values with a status of Inactive are not displayed to users.

Click UPDATE.
Company document types that have not been used can be deleted from the system.
Company document types that have been associated with a company document cannot be deleted, but they can be inactivated to prevent users from accessing them.
To delete a document type:

In the Document Type field, select the document type you want to delete.

Click DELETE.
A dialog box opens asking you to confirm your choice.

Click OK.
