Company Categories

Company categories are used to categorize a company or vendor based on the type of service or product provided. These values populate the Company Type and Secondary Category drop-down menus on the Create Company page. By default, the system includes a list of company categories that can be altered or deleted.

To open the Company Categories page:

  1. Open the Administration Menu page.

  2. Under the COMPANY ADMIN heading, click Company Categories .

To add a company category:

  1. In the Add Company Category field, enter the name of the company category.

    This is the value that will be displayed to users.

  2. Click ADD.

Once you have created a company category, you can edit it. To edit a company category:

  1. In the Company Category field, select the company category to edit.

  2. To change the name of the company category, enter a value in the Rename field.

    All historical information will reflect the new value.

  3. To change the status, select a value in the Status field.

    Company categories with a status of Inactive are not displayed to users.

  4. Click UPDATE.

ClosedDelete a Company Category

Company categories that have not been used can be deleted from the system.

Company categories that have been associated with companies cannot be deleted, but they can be inactivated to prevent users from accessing them.

To delete a company category:

  1. In the Company Category field, select the company category you want to delete.

  2. Click DELETE.

    A dialog box opens asking you to confirm your choice.

  3. Click OK.
