Asset Statuses
Asset Statuses are used to identify the current usage state of an asset, for example, In-Service or Emergency Use Only. These values populate the Asset Status drop-down menu on the Asset module's Create Asset and Find Asset pages.
To open the Asset Statuses page:

Open the Administration Menu page.

Under the ASSET ADMIN heading, click Asset Statuses.
To add an asset status:

In the Add Asset Status field, enter the name of the asset status.
This is the value that will be displayed to users.

In the Value field, enter a numerical value corresponding to the status.
Although a value is required, this field is reserved for future implementation.

Click ADD.
A dialog box opens asking you to confirm your choice.

Click OK.
Once you have created an asset status, you can further define it or edit it. To edit an asset status:

In the Asset Status field, select the asset status to edit.

To change the name of the asset status, enter a value in the Rename field.
All historical information will reflect the new value.

To change the display order, enter a value in the Tab Order field.
The Tab Order indicates the position, in menus, where this value will be listed. Lower numbered values are displayed toward the top of the list. Values will the same tab order will be sorted alphabetically.

To change the status, select a value in the Status field.
Asset statuses with a status of Inactive are not displayed to users. However, inactivating an asset status does not affect the existing assets that utilize it.

Click UPDATE.
Asset statuses that have not been used can be deleted from the system.
Asset statuses that have been associated with an asset cannot be deleted, but they can be inactivated to prevent users from accessing them.
To delete an asset status:

In the Asset Status field, select the value to delete.

Click DELETE.
A dialog box opens asking you to confirm your choice.

Click OK.
Add an Asset Status
